Zim woman faces stabbing charge

FRANCISTOWN: A 32-year-old Zimbabwean woman is facing a charge of unlawful wounding after stabbing another Zimbabwean woman several times with a knife. Virginia Moyo appeared before Magistrate Thato Mujaji for arraignment yesterday.

Information before court is that Moyo stabbed Patricia Ncube with a knife several times in Area W on the night of April 27.

Prosecutor Sub-Inspector Elsie Motlhatlhedi said the victim had been hospitalised.
"She is now out of the hospital but we are still to obtain a statement from her," she said.
Motlhatlahedi further told the court that it would not be advisable to allow Moyo bail, as she is a foreigner with no documents to stay in Botswana.
