Zim Passport Forger ConvictedBy Patricia Maganu

FRANCISTOWN: The Francistown magistrate's court has convicted a Zimbabwean man of forging a passport. Reginald Chidawanyika Mutembo pleaded guilty to the charge by stamping a fellow Zimbabwean's passport with a forged Botswana immigration stamp. The passport belongs to Pamela Khethisani whose days had expired.

Mutembo is facing one count of forging the passport for purposes of enabling Khethisani to remain in Botswana. According to the facts of the case, Mutembo forged the passport after Khethisani approached him as a customer.

Mutembo had pleaded not guilty to forgery but pleaded guilty to the second charge after substitution by the state.
