Zambian media on the spot

NDOLA: The media in Zambia has come under scrutiny, barely a month after the National Democratic Institute (NDI) co-led by former Botswana president Sir Ketumile Masire issued concerns about the operations of the major players.

NDI issued a statement that some of the major media players in Zambia were pro-government while all of them showed bias and inaccuracies in their reporting.

Masire had travelled to Lusaka, where the observations about the operations of the major players in the Zambian media were made. Barely a month after the NDI's observations, the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has decided to take legal action in the public interest against the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC).
