Youth receive recognition

It was a glamorous night for outstanding Batswana youth from various fields as they walked away with awards in recognition of their enormous contribution toward national development.

The award for best youth in innovation went to Thabiso Maretlwaneng while Mafia Soul clothing label scooped the best youth owned business award. Yarona FM was recognised for its promotion of youth issues thereby taking the best media house addressing youth issues award. Best youth in community volunteerism award went to Kitso Masi while Kaone Disepo walked home with the best youth in academic excellence award.

Tracy Chaba-Disang who once plied her volleyball career in Algeria was recognised as the best youth in sports while Desmond Lunga was awarded best youth activist. The best youth tackling global issues award went to Gogontlejang Phaladi while youth movement Youth Health Organisation was awarded best organization supporting youth development. Solomon Obed was recognised as the best youth living with disability pioneering disability issues. At the end Shirley Keoagile received the chairperson’s youth icon award
