MMADINARE: As the sun sets, the silhouette of distant figures becomes pronounced. Five youthful figures defy the onset of darkness, instead head to the nearest bar.

Their evening journey is characterised by high pitched laughter, constant Setswana conversations laced in English with an American accent.

As they pass through a dimly lit homestead, one can make out baggy jeans, tight jeans and baseball caps.
It is a sight that one would associate with Black Americans in downtown Louisiana or Michigan.
