"Yes, I stabbed her 14 times," boyfriend states

FRANCISTOWN: A murder accused has admitted to killing his girlfriend by stabbing her 14 times all over the body before Justice Tshepho Motswagole at the Francistown High court.

Botshelo Sekele (20) shocked the courtroom when he admitted to stabbing his girlfriend 19-year-old Gaabazo Thipe 14 times with a chisel at her father's house. After Sekele softly answered in the affirmative to intentionally murdering Thipe, people in the courtroom shook their heads and murmured in disbelief.  Justice Motswagole stated that he was satisfied with the unequivocal guilty plea to the murder charge but said that there was evidence of extenuating circumstances since the accused was drunk at the time of the murder.

The state, represented by Sechele Chimbisana stated that on February 9 at Letsholathebe village Sekele murdered Thipe using a chisel. He said that the accused followed Thipe to her father's house where he destroyed the lock.
