WUC tackles water shortages

BOBONONG: In the midst of serious water shortages in Bobirwa, Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) has decommissioned the well point supplying Robelela and Tshokwe villages because of high level of manganese that was discovered there.

According to corporation official Lucas Makepe this has prompted the corporation to source funding for portable mobile treatment and plans to fund it under emergency project is currently underway.

"We stopped pumping water from that well point and we currently bowse water to the two villages though this has proven to be a serious challenge, worsened by the poor condition of the road linking the villages," he said.
