Workers seek DK's 'magic' again

Government employees on strike will today descend on Molepolole to hand over a letter to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairperson Daniel Kwelagobe, requesting him to relay their grievances to President Ian Khama.

The unions are requesting Kwelagobe, who has in the past year successfully mediated and aborted a strike over salary arrears owed to the employees following the new Public Service Act.

According to the leader of the conglomerate of the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) Molepolole region, Victor Mokokwe, the government employees are requesting the BDP strongman to lead a team that comprises former presidents Sir Ketumile Masire and Festus Mogae to meet with President Khama.
