Woman sues P1.3m for womb removed at labour

A Mahalapye woman learnt after birth by Caesarian section that doctors had removed her womb without her consent.

She is now suing  the government for over P1.3 million.

Tebogo Maje, who gave birth at Mahalapye Hospital demands P800,000 for pain and suffering, P450,000 for trauma, P100,000 for disfigurement and permanent disability, P350,000 for future medical expenses as well as costs of suit. Although Maje alleges that  her womb was removed without her consent, defence attorneys say she signed a form with a clause empowering the medical doctors to perform any other procedure they deemed necessary.
