Woman pleads guilty to fraud

FRANCISTOWN: A 40-year old woman of Tati Siding has pleaded guilty to fraud. Kanani Maxwell Setso allegedly obtained P15, 000 from one Lawrence Mponang by pretending that she had a plot for sale, while she did not.

Setso who appeared before Francistown Senior Magistrate, Peggy Madandume, pleaded guilty but she had re-paid most of the money and agreed with Mponang that the matter would not go to trial.

"I paid almost all the money," she told the court. "The only balance left is P2,000 which I was going to pay. I do not understand why I am here today."
