Police in Shoshong are investigating a case in which a 23-year-old woman of Moralane village was attacked by a Zimbabwean man on December 23, who held her hostage and sexually assaulted her over two nights.

Police say the woman was walking alone from a bar when she was attacked and dragged to Ramojapotse cattle posts on the outskirts of the village, where the man raped her on arrival.

The suspect, who is still on the run, kept the victim for two nights sexually assaulting her. On the second day after he fell asleep, the victim managed to escape and went to report the matter to the police.

Confirming the case, Shoshong assistant police station commander, Superintendent George Mabuta, said on arrival at the suspect’s residence, the man was nowhere to be found and investigations are ongoing to locate and arrest him.
