Woman found dead

Police say they suspect foul play. The Commander of Central Police Station, Superintendent Mojaboswa Mathitha, told Mmegi that the woman's neighbours alerted them to the scene at noon on Saturday.

"The culprits destroyed burglar bars to enter the house and made away with some of the woman's household goods," Mathitha said. "We are yet to ascertain exactly what was taken and the value of the goods." Police suspect the woman's assailants strangled her to death. "We are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the robbery," said Mathitha.  "We must also determine if the woman was actually murdered because she did not have any visible wounds or any sign of struggle. We suspect foul play, nevertheless." He added that a pathologist's report would reveal the exact cause of the woman's death."If she was indeed strangled to death by robbers, we will take it from there," he said. The police chief said crime, especially murder, was not common in the neighbourhood.
