The public transport bus was traveling from Orapa to Gaborone when the accident occurred around 2pm in the outskirts of Palapye. Palapye Station commander, Superintendent Molly Lebala- Moduke said the deceased was trying to cross A1 road to Lemone lands with her 29-year-old daughter and her three-year- old granddaughter when their car was hit by a speeding public transport bus that was overtaking.
"The deceased was rushed to Palapye hospital where she was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Her daughter sustained minor injuries, while her granddaughter escaped uninjured. However, all of the passengers in a 65 seater bus escaped uninjured," she said.
