Woman Bitter Over Valentine Day Snub

FRANCISTOWN: While the country revelled in Valentine Day's romantic jousting on Thursday, it appears Botswana men are not in a hurry to embrace the day and what it stands for.

In a Radio Botswana phone-in programme Thursday morning, up to seven males called the host, Mmoloki "Small Boy" Mothibi had dismissed the celebration of romance as a waste of time and that instead of enhancing love among lovers, it fuelled passion killings which are the order of the day in Botswana.

Although there was a minority of women who went along with the men, most of the women who eventually phoned were in disagreement with the men saying it was a day to remember the loved ones.
