Woman accused of stealing church money

FRANCISTOWN: "Do not trust anyone. Not even your fellow church member," said Tutume Police Station commander after a church member was found in possession of stolen money belonging to her church.

Superintendent Vusimusi Jorowe said it was the first time his police station has handled a case of this nature, where a trusted church member was caught with proceeds from the church amounting to P6,300.

"I urge people not to trust anyone, not even fellow church members. If it can happen in a church it can happen anywhere and anyone can do it,' said the flummoxed station commander. Jorowe said they were taken aback on Sunday when a perplexed priest from St Peter Catholic Church, Tutume branch, reportedm to the police station that money belonging to the church had 'disappeared'.
