Wildlife officer perishes in fatal accident

FRANCISTOWN: One wildlife officer died while another sustained a minor injury in a car accident that took place along Nata-Letlhakane road on Saturday.

According to Letlhakane Police Station Commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu, the duo of veterinary officers was travelling in a wildlife-vehicle to Thalamabele on Saturday night.

Maphephu said that the wildlife vehicle they were using overturned on the gravel road killing the 45-year-old driver instantly. He said the duo was travelling from Mmeya to Thalamabele where they were camping.
