The A-Team is alleged to be waiting to engineer the expulsion of suspended Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) secretary general, Gomolemo Motswaledi after the general elections.

It is reported that the faction has hatched a plan to delay the work of the Disciplinary Committee that recently heard Motswaledi's case until after the elections to force an expulsion. The faction is said to be waiting to cause the expulsion Motswaledi if it produces the majority of BDP MPs after the general elections.

Insiders say the A-Team led by a group of individuals closely associated with President Ian Khama want Motswaledi kicked-out of the party, together with a number of his allies like Samsom Guma Moyo and Botsalo Ntuane. However the faction is said to be waiting to see how it performs at the general elections to see how much power it has in the party before it can move in for the final demolition of the rival Barata-Phathi alliance.
