Weather forecast fails to include cold front

Weather forecasts from the meteorological department seem to have failed to take into account the cold front in South Africa that is expected to hit parts of Botswana today and tomorrow.

Yesterday, the department only predicted that it would be cold, fine and mild in different parts of the country. The forecast indicated that Gantsi, Kgalagadi, Southern, South East, Kgatleng and Kweneng districts would be cold today and tomorrow while Chobe, Ngamiland, North East and Central will be fine and mild for the two days.

Though there has been no warning of a cold front, it is predicted that temperatures will be as low as one degree Celsius in Tshane and three degrees in places like Tsabong, Werda and Jwaneng. In Gaborone, Good Hope, Francistown and Gantsi, temperatures will average five to six degrees. The highest temperature will be 29 degrees in the country. The whole country is expected to be fine and mild on Saturday and Sunday.
