We stand by Kgafela - Kgatleng royals

Kgatleng tribal leaders have vowed to support their sovereign, Bakgatla Kgosi Kgafela II and said President Ian Khama must come and explain why the government has decided to de-recognise their chief.

The 145 royals met their leader yesterday at the Mochudi main kgotla where they are quoted as saying they will defy government's instructions not to take orders from Kgafela. They say Kgafela is their traditional leader and they would not dare defy him.

Speaking in an interview with Mmegi, deputy chief Kgosi Sekai Linchwe said at the meeting that the royals reiterated their support for Kgafela and added that they resolved to write to Khama requesting him to come and explain to morafe and the tribal leadership what prompted Kgafela's de-recognition.
