Water shortage hits Tsamaya village

FRANCISTOWN: Water shortage in Tsamaya village has become so dire that residents can go for days without water.

Public standpipes only hiss out air when villagers open them in the hope of quenching their thirst or performing household chores.In an interview with Mmegi, Kgosi Jey Letsholathebe said that his village can go for two to three days without water with residents resorting to neighboring villages in search of water.

"There is so much consternation among us in the village because we do not know what is causing the problem.I have taken it upon myself to visit the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) in Masunga to enquire about the cause but they said they too do not know," said Letsholathebe.
