Water connection for Kanye

The drought stricken village of Kanye on Friday witnessed the launch of the P700 million Mmashia-Kanye North-South water carrier pipe line, expected to provide water to over 45,000 residents in two and half years.

Kanye is currently boursed, after its water system was found to have been contaminated early this year leading to the death of 12 people and over 60 hospitalised.

The Minister of Minister, Energy and Water Resources, Kitso Mokaila launched the Mmamashia-Kanye North South Carrier connection water supply pipeline as well as the groundbreaking ceremony.
