Wanted fugitive killed in a scuffle with the police

A man who has been on the police wanted list since he was a teenager (16) has been shot and killed by the police during a scuffle in Old Naledi, Gaborone today, the police have revealed.



According to the police, the 23-year-old man from Mathangwane village was fatally shot whilst resisting arrest and charging at the police this morning. The man is alleged to have been on the wrong side of the law since his teenagehood .

In a media release today, the Botswana Police Service (BPS) spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube said the deceased has been on the police wanted list since 2016 for several pending criminal cases including a series of armed robberies and house breakings.
