Wanted armed robbers die in Kanye shootout

Sejelo police in Kanye are investigating two incidents in which a couple of suspects died in a police shootout on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The deputy public relations officer, Near Bagali said the suspects were on their ‘wanted list’ for a spate of armed robberies, murder and motor vehicle theft. 

“After receiving a tip off that the duo was seen in Kanye the police pursued them.  A shootout between the suspects and the police broke out leading to the suspects’ ultimate deaths. 

Both deceased are at the Kanye Seventh Day Adventist Hospital while investigations into the matter are ongoing,” Bagali said. 


He said the suspects are a Motswana man aged 29 and his middle aged South African colleague.

Bagali said police recovered pistols with ammunitions from both the deceased.
