VP to open Botswana's third kidney centre

FRANCISTOWN: Vice-President Mompati Merafhe will officially open Botswana's third kidney and dialysis centre at Riverside Private Hospital here tomorrow.

The first two kidney and dialysis centres are at Princess Marina Hospital and Bokamoso Private Hospital, both in Gaborone. Says Dr Kgosi Mompati, the superintendent of the hospital:

"The centre was built in 2008 and was inspected by the Ministry of Health and ready for use in September 2009. The centre has eight beds, which means it can handle 24 patients per day with three shifts."
