Vigilante cop, mob attack lead to alleged murder

A police officer sworn to uphold the law is now at the centre of a chilling twist in a recent murder case in Ramotswa. Investigators revealed that she allegedly mobilised a group of men to track down and brutally assault suspected burglars following a break-in at her home.

Last Wednesday, Ramotswa Police Station commander James Moikotlhai revealed that a fight erupted between opposing groups of four and two men, which led to the demise of one in the quartet, whilst another from the duo is hospitalised and critically injured.

Investigations into the matter have since established that the altercation was not random, as the officer (name withheld) is yet to be charged. The officer based at Old Naledi allegedly orchestrated the mob attack.
