Veteran journalist gets promotion

Veteran journalist, Bapasi Mphusu, has been transferred from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on promotion to senior private secretary.

Till April, Mphusu was the director of Broadcasting Services. He was then moved to IEC as director of management services. He is now senior private secretary to former president, Festus Mogae. "I will learn more about my new job as soon as I have wrapped up everything with IEC," he told Mmegi yesterday. He said some of his responsibilities in his new job are keeping the diary of the former president and arranging local and international meetings.

Mphusu took over as director of Broadcasting Services from Habuji Sosome who was appointed project co-ordinator for the national transmitter network. The director of Broadcasting Services looks after the national TV and the two Radio Botswana stations.
