US makes HIV pledge

The United States (US) has pledged to continue supporting HIV/AIDS prevention measures in Botswana.

The US ambassador to Botswana, Katherine Canavan said at the just ended two-day training workshop at Maharaja that prevention must be addressed in a very forceful way.

"Despite the great progress made in Botswana and elsewhere, the number of people infected with HIV each day still far outpaces the number of people going on treatment each day," she said.
