Urgent motion to halt constitutional review

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) president Dumelang Saleshando says they intend to table an urgent motion to stop the constitutional review since the proper procedure has not been followed.

When briefing the media on Monday this week at President Hotel, Saleshando said they are shocked that President Mokgweetsi Masisi had decided to appoint a commission of inquiry into the Constitution without any input from Parliament.

He said the President could have taken the views or input of Parliament before the commission of inquiry started consulting people.
