A Motswana conservationist, Mpho Molongwa aka Poster, has beaten competitors from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi and Seychelles to win this year's Wilderness safaris's 4c's hero award! The Wilderness 4Cs Hero Award recognises and rewards the achievements of the unsung heroes of Wilderness.

According to  Wilderness's executive, Sally-Anne Follett-Smith, the 4c's define the group's philosophy of Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce. The award is competed for by all workers within the group. For his achievement, Mpho wins P10, 000 cash while  he will donate another P10,000 to a sustainability project of his choice undertaken within the  Wilderness group.

Thanks to his efforts on the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project, Mpho has spread the conservation message throughout Botswana and the world at large, garnering a massive amount of support through donations and raising awareness amongst the communities he encounters on his patrols, according to a Wilderness report.  The company says  over his 11-year tenure, Mpho has raised a tremendous amount in donations to the Rhino Project, and actively plays his role both in the field as Rhino Monitor as well as that of an ambassador to the rhinos' cause wherever he goes.
