Unprotected sex still rampant in Bobirwa

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Selebi-Phikwe District AIDS Coordinator, Lameck Myengwa has expressed shock following findings that over 20 percent of the people who took part in a recent study done in Selebi-Phikwe and Bobirwa area engage in unprotected sex.

Myengwa was speaking to Mmegi after the launch of the Month of Prayer by the Commander of the Eastern Military Garrison of the Botswana Defence Force in Selebi-Phikwe this week.

He said that the recently concluded door-to-door study has shown that 8.5 percent of the sexual couples that were interviewed were not in a steady relationship, 22. 2 percent were cohabiting partners and 25.6 percent of the married couples engage in unprotected sex.
