Unions and DPSM square up before mediator

The leadership of Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU)were yesterday hauled before the mediator for violating striking rules.

Though it was not clear which rules in particular, the Directorate of Public Service Management was not happy with their conduct and reported them to the mediator.

This happened a few hours after the unions making up BOFEPUSU announced that they would stage countrywide demonstrations in protest at the replacement of labour in government departments following the absenteeism from work by disgruntled employees.
