Unionists condemn harassment of teachers

Botswana Land Boards and Local Authorities Workers Union (BLLAWU) president, Pelotshweu Baeng says that it is saddening to witness harassment of teachers, especially in the past few months.

He urged the union movement in the country to double its campaign to activate the union spirit to reverse the state of affairs, which, he said, 'significantly eroded the potential of the working class to contribute effectively to national growth'.

It is charged that the union movement is mostly harassed for its involvement in addressing affairs affecting the teaching community by the teaching service management, under the Ministry of Education.
