Union queries change of court date

The Botswana Mine Worker's (BMWU) Union threatens to resort to street demonstrations following a last minute rescheduling by the industrial court of the pending case in which 461 Debswana employees were dismissed from work in 2004 following a major strike.

The registrar at the industrial court has shifted the Union case from today to the end of October, it has been revealed.

The Union leadership, which is also going around the country to hear worker's grievances, held a media briefing in Gaborone over the weekend.
