Union leaders arrested

Two union leaders have been arrested and incarcerated in Serowe for allegedly inciting violence and offering lessons on how to make petrol bombs when addressing the striking public service employees.

Botswana Federation of Public Service Unions (BOFEPUSU) revealed yesterday that Pelotshweu Baeng, an employee of the Botswana Landboard, Local Authority and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU) was arrested yesterday in Gaborone and taken to Serowe where he allegedly committed the crime.

BLLAHWU secretary general Ketlhalefile Motshegwa is said to have turned himself in at the Serowe Police Station upon hearing of his warrant of arrest.
