The CCF, a forum of 160 children representing all the districts countrywide, was established by Section 34 of the 2009 Children's Act to discuss issues affecting the education, health, safety and wellbeing of the child.

The meeting took place over two days with the participants expected to vote for a chairperson and vice-chairperson.
