Umbrella ropes in Bayford

The Umbrella leaders have roped in prominent human rights lawyer and former National Democratic Front member, Dick Bayford into a team of legal brains to draft a constitution for the organisation. The team is made of Tshiamo Rantao and Mboki Chilisa and BNF members Thabani Peter and Malike Mmohe.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday after the Umbrella talks meeting, Botswana National Front (BNF) president, Duma Boko said his party, which has been assigned to put together a constitution, has engaged the team. He said they have also been tasked with developing the framework and guidelines for which the president of the Umbrella will be elected. "We will try it as democratic as possible," he said.
