*Says Batswana want change of guard
UK politician, Lord Chris Reonard, has supported calls for the ouster of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) because it has been in power for too long.

Reonard, who has been proposed as a vice president for Liberal International, said there is need for a change of guard in Botswana because once a party has ruled for too long, it loses its power to do good.

The British politician was in Botswana with Jonathan Monks of South Africa's Democratic Alliance (DA) to facilitate a five-day workshop organised by Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) last week.  Reonard said the BMD could pose a strong challenge to the BDP but emphasised that it must be consistent in its strategy in explaining the need for change.
