With only six months to go before the general elections, the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) is yet to identify its full list of parliamentary candidates. It is understood that the three-party alliance has identified about 29 candidates for parliamentary seats and is under pressure to look for more to field in the 57 constituencies up for grabs.

Yesterday, UDC spokesperson, Moeti Mohwasa said they are trying to speed up the process and hopefully they will finish it within a month or two.

“I cannot reveal the number of parliamentary candidates for now until we have finished the process of identifying our candidates. It is not an easy thing to identify candidates like many people may think, but we are doing the best for the party,” Mohwasa said.
