UB suspends cash-for-exams lecturer

The University of Botswana (UB) authorities have reportedly suspended a mathematics lecturer accused of leaking examination questions to students in exchange for cash.

Though UB spokesman, Samuel Moribame refused to provide details, he told Mmegi yesterday that the university has taken appropriate disciplinary action in connection with the examination leakage. "A firm decisive action is in line with the university's processes and procedures," said Moribame.

He refuted allegations that the university is trying to cover up the matter. He said the university cannot fold its arms when there is an alleged wrong doing.
