UB students back off court order

The University of Botswana Student Representative Council (UB-SRC) has withdrawn the court order by which they sought the High Court to instruct the Ministry of Education to pay allowances to students who were judged to have over extended courses that they should have completed.

On Tuesday the SRC president, Kagiso Thutlwe, stated that they have opted to meet the Minister of Education, Jacob Nkate, before they take legal action.

The students also want legal advice about how their contract with the ministry may be amended or annulled.
