A senior lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Botswana (UB), has expressed interest in challenging Oreeditse Molebatsi for the Tswapong South parliamentary seat ahead of the 2014 general elections.

Born 46 years ago in Sefhare, Dr Seraga Oboetswe Motsama thinks he has what it takes to challenge Molebatsi and Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcus Makgato-Malesu at the impending Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primaries in the constituency. The UB don told Mmegi that he feels ready to take his political activism to the next level following 21 years of being active in the ruling party.

Motsamai said he was born a politician, citing that he was twice voted Minister of Sports during his student days at UB.
He is among six candidates who are already preparing for Bulela Ditswe in Tswapong South. The number may increase as the window is still open for other interested parties within the ruling party to throw their names in the hat. Motsamai acknowledged Molebatsi as his biggest threat. He further noted that other candidates like Malesu also make for good competition. His biggest worry is that Malesu and Molebatsi's positions in society may work in their favour.
