UB awards honorary degrees

The University of Botswana will award six honorary doctorate degrees to some of its esteemed servants who served the university in some capacity over the years.

The six, Lawrence Lekalake, Ponatshego Kedikilwe, Lebang Mpotokwane, Professor Thomas Tlou, Professor Sharon Siverts and Potlako Molefhe at this year's  graduation ceremony which will be held on Saturday 13 October 2007. 

The ceremony will be the grand finale of the year-long celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of the University and will be held in a special way to signify the importance of the commemoration. It will also be the last graduation ceremony of His Excellency, Festus  Mogae as Chancellor of the University of Botswana.   The Senate and Council of the University have resolved to confer honorary degrees on the six individuals for their contribution to the development of the University in their varying capacities.
