Two Zimbabwean men convicted of rape

FRANCISTOWN: Two Zimbabweans, Enos Chirungwa and Lucky Phiri have been found guilty of rape by Principal Magistrate Peggy Madandume.

She dismissed the arguement by the first accused that the complainant was a prostitute he often solicited sex from, saying it was fabrication to elude the law.

Madandume was referring to the first accused, Chirungwa's evidence that the complainant was his prostitute and always did business with him. Madandume said that the complainant's evidence corroborated with other witnesses and she managed to identify them. "I agree that the complainant had never seen those two men until the day of the incident," said the magistrate.
