Two suspected robbers shot dead

Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner, Dipheko Motube has confirmed to MmegiOnline that two men were fatally shot during an encounter with the police today in Metsimotlhabe village.

Motube said the shooting followed an incident which was reported to the police earlier today in which five men allegedly stormed a house at Ledumadumane armed with a pistol and other house breaking implements.

He stated that in the process the suspects robbed the victims of their bank cards, cell phones, television sets and a Mercedes Benz and fled the crime scene.

"We have since launched a search for the three suspects who are still on the run and we are appealing to members of the public to help with any information that could lead to their arrest. We strongly advise the suspects to surrender themselves to the nearest police station," Motube said
