Two officers die in police suicide

Molepolole:Police are investigating a case in which a 38-year-old male police officer shot and killed a 37-year-old colleague while on duty at Molepolole Police District Headquaters yeasterday.

The motive behind the shooting is not yet known, as there was no quarrel at the scene before the shooting.After killing his colleague, the assailant  left the headquarters  and shot himself a few metres away at Molepolole Police Station.

Police public relations officer, Assistant Commisioner, Christopher Mbulawa said the assailant used a privately licensed shot gun to commit the crimes.The murdered  officer was stationed in Gaborone  and was on on an official trip in Molepolole at the time of the incident.The names of the two officers, a Sub-inspector and inspector, are withheld until their next of kin have been informed.
