Two MPs to attend Malawi elections

Two Members of Parliament Charles Tibone and Mmoloki Raletobana will be part of an observer mission at the upcoming elections in Malawi.

A statement from the National Assembly issued yesterday says another election observer mission to South Africa, that was scheduled to depart tomorrow has been cancelled due to inability by the Southern Africa Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADCPF) to raise sufficient funds. South African elections will be held on May 7th.

“Whereas National Parliaments pay for the participation of their MPs and Staff Members in the SADC PF Election Observer Missions all the other Secretarial costs relating to MPs and Forum Staff travel, hiring of vehicles, hiring of Conference Venue, and hiring of interpreters and translators are met by the Secretariat through its resource mobilization efforts,” says the statement.
