Two Batswana granted bail, Zim accomplice denied

FRANCISTOWN: A Zimbabwean man had his application for bail quashed because he was considered a flight risk by the magistrates court on Wednesday.

However, Senior Magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu granted the Zimbabwean’s two Batswana co-accused bail. Mulalu said he would not grant bail to 25-year- old Thulani Ndlovu because he was a foreigner.

“The accused does not have travel documents and properties that can make him remain in Botswana since he just came to the country seeking employment. For these reasons he will remain in custody,” Mulalo said. The three men, Tshepo Ngakane (27), Dallas Benoni (28), both from Molebatsi Ward in Tonota, and Ndlovu, are accused of having jointly stolen an engine at Senganeng cattle post on May 21, 2010.
