FRANCISTOWN: Police in Tutume recently buried an unknown woman whose body was discovered last month.

According to Tutume Police Station commander, Superintendent Lesego Kgosiemang, the woman was buried following weeks of her being kept at the Tutume Primary Hospital mortuary. He further said that the unclaimed corpse stayed in the mortuary without being identified for over two weeks.

Kgosiemang indicated that the corpse was buried at Tutume cemetery. The burial follows the Botswana Police Services (BPS) spot announcement last month through its official Facebook page appealing to the public to help identify the corpse of an unknown woman at Tutume Primary Hospital. Additionally, the deceased who is suspected to be aged between 25 and 35 years was found dead at Karana farms on July 11. The woman has a coffee-coloured complexion and is 1.5 metres tall.
