Tutume gets Bopaganang Basha centre

FRANCISTOWN: Bopaganang Basha Youth Centre (BBYC) has launched a branch in Tutume in collaboration with Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC).

During the launch, project manager Lyenor Nkosi lamented the poor attendance by the youth. He said the event was supposed to be embraced by the youth since hope has been brought to their village. "The new born baby has been brought to Tutume but when I look around, grandmothers and small children are the only people present.Where are the Tutume youth? This was supposed to be their day of joy," said Nkosi.

He stated that Bopaganang Basha opened the centre in Tutume to spread its wings to rural areas. He said the major challenge facing the youth is alcohol abuse, which leads to teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS infections and crime. He told the youth to work with Tutume Bopaganang Basha coordinator Kerataone Ketumile. He said this will ensure that they are empowered as they exploit the activities and utilities that have been brought to the village.
