Tutors exodus worries medical students

University of Botswana School of Medicine (UB SOM) students have complained that the institution is losing lecturers en masse, saying it will adversely affect their medical studies.

Some of the students who spoke to The Monitor revealed that the mass exodus means they constantly change lecturers and this disturbs their learning.

The students have also raised doubts about the accreditation of the medical education offered at the UB SOM saying they doubt it meets international standards. They have also questioned the UB's wisdom in choosing to use the Princess Marina Hospital as an academic hospital, saying it has not been accredited to be used as such.
